"I recently upgraded my listening room and discovered some major sonic issues. I researched how to overcome these issues and soon found I was way out of my league with respect to the experience and technical knowledge required to get the best sound. I contacted the person who understands this stuff better than anyone else I know, and literally wrote the book on it, Mitch Barnett. Not only does Mitch understand DSP and how to get the best sound in one's room, he is wonderful to work with.
When Mitch sent me the first set of convolution filters and I heard something that just wasn't right, he listened to me and found the reason. He never told me what I heard was "in my head" or anything of the sort. Mitch explained to me that there are many choices to make and options to select when creating a custom solution for each person and his combination of HiFi gear and listening environment. I soon received a couple more options that I could A/B at my own pace, with my software of choice.
Now, I couldn't be happier with my reference system. Thanks to Mitch I have a result that I could've never achieved on my own." Chris Connaker, Founder Audiophilestyle
"I've used many advanced digital playback setups in my listening room. Most recently, I've set up a multi-sub all active system using JBL M2 speakers. Mitch has always been an important influence and teacher in my music listening journey. Mitch's approach to playback can best be described as objectively measure and subjectively confirm. Mitch is able to explain and test various measurements using REW, Acourate and Audiolense and then apply his testing methods to real world listening enjoyment.
It is my belief that frequency domain is the only measurement that matters for folks who sell and listen to passive playback systems. This makes sense because these systems generally don't have excellent time domain performance characteristics. After I discovered Mitch's work, I learned that time domain is a key factor which forms the foundation for accurate music reproduction. This is the approach that Mitch takes. And I believe it is the most accurate and advanced way to replay digital music. Of course, active playback systems using digital crossovers and time aligned drivers is more complex. But the work pays off.
Mitch's approach to playback is the most advanced I've found. There is a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that music playback is accurate. Mitch's approach eliminates frivolous expenditures pedalled by dealers and the misguided folks in online forums; only the music remains for listening enjoyment."

"As an acoustic engineer and hobbyist I have been experimenting with digital room correction since now almost 10 years with several high and low points.
One of the highs was when I bought the book of Mitch Barnett, which gives a very good overview of the theory behind it as well as a lot of helpful advice which also works greatly in reality. Later I got also direct contact and exchange with him which helped me further to perfect both my desktop/monitoring and classic Hifi setups.
A good! (something which unfortunately is rare in such most automatic tools) room correction is together with optimizing your room acoustics and speaker placements probably the biggest and unfortunately most underestimated improvement of any audio system. With Mitch Barnett you have someone at your side who can professionally and honestly lead you to such a target."
"Before I came across Mitch’s article “Integrating Subwoofers with Stereo Mains using Audiolense” on audiophilestyle.com I experimented over years with expensive hardware components but still couldn’t get to the sound accuracy at home that I’ve heard at my brother-in-law’s mastering studio.
I then subsequently bought his first edition of “Accurate Sound Reproduction using DSP” and got totally fascinated by the topic DSP. I am now running a 4 way set up (2x2 cascaded Rythmik stereo subs + TAD CE-1 3 way mains) that I was not only able to fine-tune with Mitch’s constant input and analysis – he gave me all the input (Multichannel DACs, routing, convolvers…) I needed as a rookie with pro gear.
Today I am absolutely happy with my sound & setup – thanks to Mitch. Here’s a picture of what I was able to achieve myself and what I got after Mitch’s latest analysis, speaking for itself (1/12 smoothing)"
"It has been a pleasure working with Mitch these past few years exploring the sound that proper DSP correction can make! As audiophiles, there are countless suggestions and products we can spend time and money on. Of the possible options, I think it’s fair to say that the magnitude of difference room-correction can makes towards the goal of achieving better sound quality supersedes that of countless other “tweaks”.
Mitch brings with him essential expertise, passion, and is an excellent communicator in guiding one through the process – especially important with challenging and complex systems!
Thanks for the suggestions and discussions, Mitch."

"I have, over the journey, poured over Mitch’s various articles on how to use various audiophile DSP solutions - with the insights used to optimize various two-channel systems. More recently, I moved to my end-game system - a pair of Dutch & Dutch 8c speakers complimented with two SVS SB-16 sub-woofers for low-bass in a large room. Mitch helped me get the most out of this system via use of Audiolense to integrate the speakers and sub-woofers in a manner that took account of the specific room issues. The insights into this process proved invaluable - saving a huge amount of trial and error, and leaving me with the best sound that I’ve ever had in my room. Thanks, Mitch, for all the assistance."
